Arsenal And Tottenham Locked In £30m Transfer Battle For Max Aarons

Norwich City full-back Max Aarons is reportedly wanted by as many as four Premier League clubs in the January transfer window after his stellar season thus far.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be leading the race for the 20-year-old, although West Ham United and Everton have also expressed an interest.

According to the Daily Mail, a bid of around £30million would be enough to tempt Norwich into doing a deal.

However, bringing the right-back back to Carrow Road on loan until the end of the season is something the relegation-threatened side would insist on.

The Canaries’ wonderkid has enjoyed a terrific start to his debut Premier League campaign after helping the club win the Championship last season.

Arsenal are desperate for defensive reinforcements after Calum Chambers was ruled out for the rest of the season, joining Kieran Tierney in the treatment room.

Hector Bellerin is still recovering from a long-term injury himself, while Ashley Maitland-Niles is still a midfielder by trade. Boss Mikel Arteta reportedly believes Aarons has the necessary attributes to fit into his desired style of play.

But Spurs also need to strengthen their right-back position with Serge Aurier still flattering to deceive and Kyle Walker-Peters linked with loan moves to Brighton and Burnley.

Aarons has maintained an 80% tackle success rate this season, also making 40 clearances.
