Jadon Sancho To Chelsea And Paul Pogba To Real Madrid?

Perhaps the most famous mid-season deal was Fernando Torres’ £50million move from Liverpool to Chelsea in January 2011 – and we all know how that ended.

But nevertheless, many clubs see the mid-season market as a great opportunity to bolster their squad for the second-half of the campaign.

Pace-setters Liverpool have already signed Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Sazlburg in a £7.25million deal – but there have been rumours even bigger deals could happen this month.

Jadon Sancho to Chelsea

One name which has consistently been doing the rounds in the rumour mill is Sancho’s, the teenage sensation who has been tearing up the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.

The England winger has been linked with a January move to the Premier League, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool thought to be in the running for his signature.

But it's understood the Blues, whose transfer ban has been lifted, believe they can win the race to sign the 19-year-old forward this month.

Frank Lampard has £150m to spend and the club may have to pay more than £120m for Sancho, with Dortmund keen to cash in on one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

The winger has recorded an impressive nine goals and nine assists in his opening 15 Bundesliga matches this season,

He could be the perfect long-term replacement for Willian on the right wing, though he can also play on the left.

The teenager would provide competition for his childhood mate Callum Hudson-Odoi and ex-teammate Christian Pulisic, who have both struggled for form in recent weeks.

Paul Pogba to Real Madrid

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed after his side’s loss to Arsenal on Wednesday evening that Pogba’s ‘people’ are advising him to undergo surgery on his ankle, which will keep him out for the majority of January.

This comes at a convenient time for the midfielder, who appears to want to leave the club and has been linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid and ex-club Juventus.

Pogba made no secret of his desire to move on and he'd slot in nicely to Real’s midfield, with Luka Modrid’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.

The France midfielder could form a formidable midfield pairing alongside Toni Kroos or Federico Valverde, with Casemiro providing the defensive stability behind them.

However, United and Solskjaer are reluctant to cash in on the 26-year-old and therefore only a sizeable bid will see him leave the Old Trafford club.
