Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Urged To Sign Jadon Sancho

Liverpool should consider signing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

This is the view of former Red Jason McAteer, who believes the 19-year-old would fit perfectly on Liverpool’s front line.

England international Sancho is also understood to be on the radar of Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Reds have been relatively busy in the January transfer window, having secured the signing of Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg.

It’s one of the latest successes in a great season for Liverpool so far.

They currently have a 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League and have won the UEFA Super Cup as we will as the FIFA Club World Cup.

And while McAteer accepts Liverpool most likely don’t have a great need to make any more signings in January, he’d love to see Sancho move to Anfield.

He went on to suggest how joining Liverpool would improve Sancho as a player, like Klopp has done with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold or like how Pep Guardiola has improved Raheem Sterling’s game.

McAteer told Racing Post: “I doubt Jurgen Klopp feels under any pressure to make any more moves in the transfer window though if there’s one player I’d love to see him bring to Anfield, it’s Jadon Sancho.

“Sancho looks like a Jurgen Klopp type of player. He’s young, immensely talented, looks ideally suited to the system which Klopp plays and would be learning off one of the top coaches in the world.

“Good managers take good players to the next level. Look at Raheem Sterling at Manchester City.

“Sterling mightn't have naturally brought into Pep Guardiola’s unique philosophy, except he has and the upshot is that this once erratic talent is now one of the finest players in the Premier League.

“Klopp has a similar aura and Trent Alexander-Arnold is simply a classic example of a player who has flourished under the German where he may very we won't have done under someone else.

“Sancho at Liverpool would be brilliant for him and the club. He could play anywhere along that front three and looks a genuinely class act.”
