Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Just hours before kick-off, reports of Inter Milan’s interest in signing Ashley Young cropped up. His contract with the Red Devils expires in less than six months and he’s been used as a backup fullback this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about these claims after his side’s latest tie and he said, “Tonight isn't the time to talk about players leaving. We can’t weaken ourselves; we have to strengthen ourselves.”

However, that hasn’t stopped the rumours as Sky Italia provides the latest information about the Serie A side’s interest in the 34-year-old.

It’s claimed Antonio Conte’s side has offered him an 18-month contract and Young has ‘accepted’ the proposal made by the San Siro club. It’s now down to Inter to find an agreement with United to very safe the player’s services.

Sky’s report doesn’t mention the details of wages that Inter are willing to offer Young and also the fee they are ready to pay Manchester United.

If Young completes the move, the versatile defender will reunite with Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sánchez at the Italian club.
