Mesut Ozil Send Message To Arsenal Supporters

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil lasted 77 minutes in the FA Cup third round tie and had a quiet game against Leeds as Mikel Arteta hooked the superstar.

Mesut Ozil was hooked in Arsenal’s narrow win over Leeds in the FA Cup after having his quietest game for the Gunners since Mikel Arteta’s appointment.

The German has been revitalised under the Spaniard since Unai Emery’s sacking at the Emirates Stadium.

Ozil has been a star performer for Arsenal in recent games, especially against Manchester United on New Year’s Day when the Gunners won 2-0.

However, he underperformed and looked leggy against a hardworking Leeds team, who should have had a first-half lead last night.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side totally dominated the first period in north London but failed to capitalise on their impressive showing.

Arteta’s men came out with a different approach after the interval, and Reiss Nelson’s scrappy goal ultimately split the sides.

Ozil came off for youngster Joe Willock on 77 minutes with the score at 1-0, but there we are no tantrums from the World Cup winner this time.

After the game, he took to social media to indicate he wasn’t sulking over the situation.

Ljungberg subsequently dropped him from Arsenal’s next game, raising concerns over the player’s attitude.

But the £350,000-a-week man could has hope now under Arteta.

Up next for the Gunners is simply a London derby at Crystal Palace on Saturday (12.30pm).
