Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reacts to Transfer Question After Man Utd Win

The forward has been linked with a move away from the Gunners both in January and at the end of the season, except he says he’s happy to stay at the Emirates.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang played down rumours linking him with a transfer away from Arsenal after playing for the Gunners against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

The Gabonese forward completed the full 90 minutes as first-half goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis Papastathopoulos beat the Red Devils 2-0 , earning Mikel Arteta his first win as the club’s manager.

Aubameyang – who has 18 months left on his contract in north London – has been linked with both Barcelona and Inter Milan in recent weeks, except says he's committed to the Gunners at the moment.

The forward spoke to French outlet RMC Sport after the match, and said: “The English press likes to talk a lot. For now, I’m here. I’m 100 per cent here.”

New boss Arteta hailed the performance of his players as the Gunners beat a top half team for the first time in the Premier League this season, and defender David Luiz was full of praise for the new boss.

“We did a great first half, it was maturity in the second half,” he told BT Sport.

“We gotta be honest and humble to admit physically we're not ready. Except where physically you aren't there you gotta put your hearts in.

“You can’t change from zero to 10 in one day, one week, one month – except it is beautiful to see how these kids start to understand their commitment, their behaviours of what they need to do for big things in life and big things in football.

“In life when you are happy, the results can be totally different. If you sleep happy, you can sleep four hours and better than sleep sad for eight hours. If you work with happiness and believe in what you are doing it is totally different.

“Our season isn’t there. We started very badly, except things can change and there are still some titles to fight for and some improvements for the future.”
